Anxiety, Trauma, PTSD
Anxiety
Wrestling with a constant sense of uneasiness, struggling with racing thoughts or fear or panic can often leave a person feeling paralyzed. Anxiety is something so many of us struggle with. You are NOT ALONE. Partnering with me through the counseling process can bring a new sense of hope and freedom you may be searching for.
PTSD and Trauma
So many of us in life have experienced a distressing or disturbing event. For some that event has been significantly clear and catastropic, for others it might have been something that we’ve written off as minor but inevitably it has impacted us. Identifying and working through trauma is often one of the most tender areas of life a person can journey. But addressing trauma can also bring about the most significant change and sense of freedom a person may be hoping for. I would be honored to step into the hard places of life with you in order to help point you towards change and freedom.
EMDR Counseling can help you move forward in your life freeing you from those areas you might feel stuck. Whether significant fears, past regrets, or overwhelming patterns that seem to have a strong foothold in your life, EMDR can be a powerful tool we can use to help bring about the desired change you have been wanting.
EMDR seems to have a direct effect on the way that the brain processes information. Sometimes, if an event is too overwhelming or stressful, the natural healing ability of the brain becomes stuck and is unable to process what has happened to you. EMDR believes the events that remain unprocessed in your brain are the cause of depression, anxiety, PTSD, anger, resentment, and many other negative emotions and symptoms.
EMDR allows you to process those memories so that they are no longer a source of discomfort or cause you to think and feel in ways you may not want to. You don’t forget what happened to you, but the negative emotions and thoughts connected with that memory are resolved in a positive, healthy way.
